Cody Sloan
Originally from Pennsylvania, Cody began his professional career in Boston. He received his MFA in Acting from the University of San Diego‘s prestigious program at the La Jolla Playhouse, consistently ranked one of the top 5 MFA Acting programs in the country.
Just two months after graduating, he made his Off-Broadway debut in the 2022 Drama Desk Award winning production Seven Deadly Sins, working alongside Tony, Emmy, and Drama Desk award nominated director Moisés Kaufman, in one of the first in-person productions in NY after the COVID lock downs. Since then, he has worked with some of the most respected directors in the country, from Tony Award winners Christopher Ashley and Diane Paulus, to Will Davis, Emily Moler, Vanessa Stalling, and Patricia McGregor.
He has developed new plays at Second Stage, IAMA Theatre, the Kennedy Center, MTA Playwrights Lab, the Huntington Theatre Company, and others.
At Synecdoche Works, Cody performed in Seahorse by J.C. Pankratz (Frank Moffett Mosier Fellowship Winner for 2021). He returned to direct A Faerie Tale of New York by Enid Brain (Special Jury Prize, Frank Moffett Mosier Fellowship for 2022).
In addition to theater, Cody works across narration, film, and producing his own work. In 2019, he appeared in Amazon Prime’s critically acclaimed Selah and the Spades, working opposite Jesse Williams. He stars in Mar Molina’s upcoming Thalia, opposite Juliana Joel. He is currently in post-production for his short, Shot Day, which he wrote, produced, and starred in.
Cody is the co-founder and artistic director of the LA based producing company, Baby Teeth.
